Messages from unknown senders do not appear

Hi, I am not getting unknown senders messages sent to my MacBook. I get them on my phone, but not my new MacBook. I used to get them on my old MacBook.

I have followed:

iMessage NOT syncing across iPhone and Ma… - Apple Community

Messages from unknown senders not appeari… - Apple Community

https://www.macobserver.com/tips/quick-tip/troubleshoot-text-message-syncing/

Logged in and out of iCloud numerous times on both devices.

Have pushed Sync Now button and clicked on and off the Enable Messages in iCloud button

Only unknown senders are not appearing. I keep in testing, so sure of it.

I have an:

iPhone 6S

MacBook Pro 14 2021 (running 12.4)

Apple support says to run in safe mode, but if software is actually blocking and to prevent future blocks and I prefer not running in safe mode.

Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.4

Apple support resolved:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding.*

Toggle on with Mac.

For some reason this setting was not touched, but I was nevertheless receiving texts from unknown senders on previous laptop.
