MacBook Air Messages is not syncing up to my iPhone

Just got a new Macbook Air when I go to open messages on my computer it is not syncing up to my phone even though it is the exact same Apple ID. What do I need to do to fix this?

Messages don't sync between iPhone and MacBook Air Hi people! So I tried to connect the Messages apps. I am already signed in from the iPhone Messages and Mac Messages but the messages don't sync seamlessly. I tried signing-out and then in again but still no syncing of the messages instantly.

Sign out of your Apple ID on all devices then sign back in on all using the same exact Apple ID. Give it time, at least 24 hours, things are seldom instantaneous.
