how to remove an apple id thats permanently disabled

hi, i got an iphone xs from my best friend, and i would like to log out his apple id and change to my apple id. however, his apple id was deleted last year. also, he lost his access key too. can i do something to get rid of it?

No. If the phone is activation locked only the account that locked it can unlock it, and if that account has actually been deleted then the phone is permanently disabled. From this knowledge base article→How to delete your Apple ID account - Apple Support:


Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted.
