No notifications for iOS updates on iPhone

Hello,

I have an iPhone 11 and an Apple Watch 5 (WiFi only).

The watch always shows notifications for watchOS updates.

The iPhone has stopped showing notifications for iOS updates a while ago (months? one year? Who knows?!).

I have to go into settings and manually search for updates when I hear news about updates and they are always there when I search for them.

This happens even though both the download and install options are enabled in the automatic updates section in settings.

Any ideas on what is happening here and how I can fix it?

Hello RobertXYZ,

We appreciate the time you've taken to answer these questions.

We can complete a test by running off automatic updates and turning it back on.

Go ahead and manually update and Contact Apple Support if the next update doesn't send a notification.

To make sure we've got it right, you're not receiving notifications regarding iOS updates, right? We'd like to ask a few questions to help determine what options may resolve this issue.

Did you experience this issue on a previous iPhone or has it been isolated to this one only?
If you turn off Automatic Updates, do you find the issue persists?
Are you experiencing issues with any other app or feature not providing the expected notification?

Here are the answers:

I don't and never did have a previous iPhone, so no, I did not experience this issue on an iPhone I never had before. How is this relevant, by the way?
So, you are asking if I turn off automatic updates, do I still NOT get notifications about updates? Boy, this is one crazy question. I never tried such a stupid thing, to be honest. Why would I ever disable automatic updates? How would I test this stupidity? Do I turn off automatic updates and wait one year to come back and let you know, so you can waste more of my time with more stupid questions?
No. Every other notification works fine. It's just the automatic system updates that STOPPED getting notifications for no apparent reason.

I'm ready for all the help I will get based on these great questions.

🤣 they edited my message that predicted the questions are pointless and they are just wasting people's time. And, as everyone can clearly see, I was right.
