dual eSIM for iPhone12?

I have an iPhone 12 mini running iOS 15.4.1. I have been using it with one eSIM carrier in my home country in Europe, and I want to add another carrier to use in the US (specifically, T-mobile via the T-mobile prepaid eSIM app). Can I install 2 eSIMs on this phone, or do I have to get a physical SIM card from T-mobile? (it looks from the Apple help article like only iPhone 13 can have 2 eSIMs installed)

Here is the thing about eSIMs. On an iPhone 12 you can have multiple eSIMs however only ONE eSIM can be active along with ONE Physical SIM. On an iPhone 13, you can have multiple eSIMs however you can have TWO eSIMs or ONE eSIM and ONE Physical SIM active.

You have an iPhone 12 Mini and you already have one eSIM active (carrier from home country) and therefore the second line (T-Mobile) must be a Physical eSIM for both lines to remain active. OR You can have both as eSIMs but have only ONE active at a time.

Hope all of above answers your question.
