I’m trying to update an app in the AppStore and it’s asking me for my password and when I provide that, it says incorrect and shows another email that isn’t mine. How do I rectify this.

Even if it's free it's still considered a purchase. You will know if it is your ID if you can just update it yourself. As long as the apps still exist in the App Store you can delete them and download.
Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used with the purchase. You need to delete the app and use your own Apple ID to purchase it.
It’s not a purchased app though. Also, how do I know all the apps that were downloaded with that ID? So I can just delete them all and redownload
