“When you try to associate a device that was previously associated, you might notice a message that says, "This device is associated with another Apple ID. You cannot associate this device with another Apple ID for [number] days." You might need to wait up to 90 days to associate the device with a different Apple ID.”

Thank you for the screenshot.

Is this New or Used?

Is this a new out-of-the-box device? If so, contact Apple Support. Ask that they all this change to occur. I purchased a Mac form Apple, and it turned out it was a returned-purchase. So, Apple had to modify it and all change to take past on my end.

A Glitch in Apple's User Database?

If a new device, I would contact Apple Support, asking them if there is a glitch in their user database. You should not be getting this message, if they have already been repaired. If these are used, then that may be why this is occurring.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
