Stuck in “other device mode”. Need to switch to headphones

Lightning connector is stuck in “other device” mode. Need help to switch to headphones

Hello penut64,

Are you using the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, as seen here: Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter - Apple

Or are you instead connecting a pair of headphones with a Lightning connector, such as the EarPods?

For either case, try checking the port on the iPhone, as well as on the adapter (if applicable) to see if there's any debris there.

Try disconnecting everything, and re-connect it as well.

I was trying or is the lighting adapter to plug an auxiliary to my phone. I accidentally selected “other device” instead of “headphones” on the prompt

my fix in the moment ( was at a huge event and had to play background music through their sound system) was to go k to settings and “forget all devices”

now im not sure how to get the prompt back for future options. (Maybe I want the “other device” 🤷‍♀️)
