How can I have different (or no) headers on subsequent pages from the first page of a Pages document?
In a word processing document, you can hide a header on the first page of a section via the Documents Panel > Section tab, but not subsequent pages in that section.
If you have a Page layout type of document, each page is its own entity and headers are either on for all, or none.

The word processing document allows you to disable headers only on the first page of the section. Page layout documents are their own section where each thumbnail is separate from the others, If you disable headers in the first thumbnail, all Page layout icons lose the header.
Most word processing applications other than Apple's Pages are competing with one another, charge for their purchase, and each will have its own learning curve, with usually quite abit more functionality than Pages. Although the LIbreOffice Suite is free, the learning curve will vacuum your time as the suite is intended to be an MS Office clone.. The only application on the planet that can open a Pages document is Pages, so that would require you to export any document to Word format before it could be opened in another application.
Consider the features that you require in a word processing application beyond just being easy to use (such as Word .docx import/export capability) and then evaluate the free trials from the vendor websites, whose applications are also in the Mac App Store:
Be aware that some so-called Get (free) word processing applications in the Mac App Store are free through a trial period and then require a purchase to unlock the useful features, learn a markdown syntax, or a subscription.
That sounds as though a Word processing document in Pages and a page layout document would work exactly the same way: either you have headers turned on for all the pages or off for all the pages.
How peculiar.
Does anyone know a more user-friendly word processing application to use with Apple products other than Pages?
