Red circle with exclamation mark sd card

Hi!

I've started having issues when importing photos from my sd card (Lightning to sd-card from apple) where some photos get imported but majority of them get a red circle with an exclamation mark. Cant save them from files folder either. any tips?

Some info:

Worked until like 3 weeks ago.

Works on my gfs iphone 13 pro (I use Iphone 12 pro)

I have plenty of storage left.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15

Not all the image formats are readable on an iPhone -> Supported media formats in Motion - Apple Support (BE)

To import from your SD card or digital camera, follow these steps:

Connect the adapter to your iOS device.
Connect your digital camera to the adapter by USB or insert an SD card.
Photos should automatically open to the Import tab. ...
Tap Import All to import your content, or tap specific items, then tap Import.

I've read those articles but sadly they havent helped. What I find weird is that it works flawlesly on other iPhones but not on mine. And the image formats are all the same so why would some import but others not?
