How to avoid "Unable to Verify This is a Genuine Apple Display" with frozen screen?

iPhone 11 began to restart on its own multiple times. After restarting, multiple app icons disappeared and some apps wouldn't open. We restarted the phone and the phone touchscreen was basically broken with a notification saying "Unable to Verify This is a Genuine Apple Display" even though it was never repaired or replaced. It was fixed by hard restarting but is there a way to prevent this from happening again and why it happened?
