My Mackbook pro is updated to Monterey 12.0.1 and my Ipad pro(2nd generation) is updated to 15.5. When I try to connect sidecar via usb it doesn't work. I have trusted the device it is shown over in the Finder. I even keep getting a wireless error.(ipad has timed out).
How do I troubleshoot this problem?

It does appear you have seen the correct article for Sidecar. Make sure these requirements have been met:

If it still isn't working, you may want to try a new cable or new port on your MacBook Pro.
You can also isolate the issue to your user or system-wide by testing in a new user account. Here's how to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.
