Blocking on all iOS device

Is blocking someone global/universal? If you block them on your iPhone will they also be blocked on you MBP and iPad? Or you'd have to go to each device a block them?

Hello SU,

As long as you are using the same Apple ID across devices, blocked contacts should be the same. You can find steps to block on any device below:

Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Block messages in Messages on Mac - Apple Support

Thanks for the response.

I can confirm it's the same Apple ID on both devices since they are getting the same messages. About upgrading, unfortunately, upgrading isn't an option due to application dependencies. Additionally, this feature shouldn't be broken. Because it's broken from iOS 14.3 > macOS 12.3.1 and macOS 12.3.1 > IOS 14.3.

Yeah but the funny thing is that I know for a fact that the user who I'm helping uses their phone primarily. So at one point in time the account did sync across devices. like the first user stated.

It's uncharacteristic of apple to make it just device specific more account specific. It makes more sense that it's broken since their is residual evidence that at some point the blocked names were synced across a devices by that one account.

Hi SU,

To help resolve this issue, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices. Next, make sure your iPhone has the latest iOS version: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Check to make sure your Messages app is setup properly:

Also, restart your devices: Restart your iPhone

Best regards.
