Hard drive management

I'm running Monterey 12.3.1.

I moved the Photos Library to an external HD and that is working fine.

I deleted the Library from my Hard Drive and it is no longer shown in Finder.

But when I go into About This Mac, Storage, then manage it still shows the Library Icon and 79.42 GB.

What has gone wrong and how do I fix it please?

making spaces on my internal hard drive I have now manage to move all my photos from Mac Studio hard drive to an external SSD. My mac studio hard drive still showing full. How do I make spaces by removing all existing photos from my internal hard drive ? Library location : External SSD> Photo library This library is not searchable in spotlight due to its location and because it is not the system photo library Can anyone help?

Photos is Empty But Still Using 30GB of Disk Space I have moved my photo library to an external drive months ago, and 'manage storage' is still showing Photos as using 30GB despite the local library being empty and the system library on an SD card has been ejected and removed. Below is the screenshot of the 'Manage Storage' usage: Then going to the Photos App, there is nothing in the local library: And this is the only library available: For simplicity, I have removed the SD card that holds the current system library. I have also checked the size of the 'Pictures' folder listed for the user in finder, and it is only 334MB. Hardware: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) OS: macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 I have seen other threads that suggest deleting recently deleted photos, but there are none, so this option is not showing in Photos. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For some reason the manage storage still shows the library even though it is on an external drive.

To find out where my space is used, I use disk inventory X

Which gives a graphical and hierarchical list view of the space used.

Thanks. This hasn't solved my immediate problem but I am still working my way through results.

It did throw up a multi GB screen recording, which I didn't even know existed. Now deleted.

Results do not seem to tie up with the "manage storage" figures.
