Can I connect an external drive to my iPhone 7 Plus?

My phone has very limited space left for videos and photos I want to take when out and about. I'd like to use the movie app on my phone also. I do need to be able to store my videos for 'imovie' when away from my Mac on an external disc. thanks for help!

Yes. You can connect an external hard drive via the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter - Apple

Details here: link-> Connect external storage devices to iPhone - Apple Support

Once connected, you can transfer photos and videos to the external drive and remove them from iPhone. you then need to move them back if you need to access them from the iMovie App.
