Switching Keyboards

I was using a logitech usb mx keyboard previously, but then bought a apple magic keyboard. My mac mini m1 shows the magic keyboard under bluetooth and it operates fine. But the keyboard under preferences still thinks it is the logitech so the keys and functions are not aligning. How can get keyboard to be in the magic keyboard layout in preferences?

Mac mini, macOS 12.2

Tom, thank you. I just assumed my school district ordered the correct keyboard, and since I saw English letters I didn't think to check. It is a Danish keyboard layout. LOL Time for a return.

If you make Danish the only item in system prefs > keyboard > input sources, then the output will match the printing on the keys.

For example on the apple keyboard the shift+ 8 key at the top is supposed to be open parenthesis

What language keyboard is that? English keyboards have * on Shift + 8,

In any case, go to system preferences > keyboard > input sources and make sure that you have only ONE item on the list, and that the name of that item corresponds to the language of your keyboard. Use the minus button to remove any English keyboards like British, US, ABC.
