I was using a logitech usb mx keyboard previously, but then bought a apple magic keyboard. My mac mini m1 shows the magic keyboard under bluetooth and it operates fine. But the keyboard under preferences still thinks it is the logitech so the keys and functions are not aligning. How can get keyboard to be in the magic keyboard layout in preferences?

If you make Danish the only item in system prefs > keyboard > input sources, then the output will match the printing on the keys.

What language keyboard is that? English keyboards have * on Shift + 8,
In any case, go to system preferences > keyboard > input sources and make sure that you have only ONE item on the list, and that the name of that item corresponds to the language of your keyboard. Use the minus button to remove any English keyboards like British, US, ABC.
For example on the apple keyboard the shift+ 8 key at the top is supposed to be open parenthesis, but the mac acts like this is a standard pc keyboard and shift + 8 is actual the asterisk key. Similar issues for other keys like the greater and less than on apple keyboard is left by the shift button, but I am having to use shift + comma key.
