Studio Display drops sound

Anyone else having their Studio Display drop sound? Mine is playing for 5-10 seconds and then dropping on everything, including Music, Pandora, etc. I'm fully updated on OS and Display firmware updates. I've had the monitor for a month or more and this just started. Have disconnected and reconnected all cables, restarted multiple times, etc.

I had the same issue with both of my Studio Displays. Opened a chat with Apple Support and after trying several strategies including starting up in Safe Mode I was lucky (?) that the fix seemed to be disconnecting the displays both from power and Mac Studio and then connecting one before the other.

M1 Ultra Mac…. Update with two Mac Studio Displays…both screen sounds have now died. On for two seconds, double click sound and off. Tried safe mode, tried creating new user… all with AppleCare support and final resolve now I am reinstalling system software macOS Monterey… Just like started on one screen then went to both. The sound out of the m1 Mac Ultra is horrible I need my screens! I was running the latest software and updated the firmware a while ago on both monitors. I hope this resolves the issue. Not happy as I cannot do my work during this time.

Original poster here. I've now had the issue happen twice about six weeks apart. What has worked is the power cycling on the monitor. Unplug, wait 20 or so seconds, and reconnect -- as mentioned by two respondents already. Not an elegant solution at all. As of 7/15, that was the best Apple could suggest still. Hopefully, they are working on a more elegant and permanent fix!

Very frustrated here..., spending all this money on a system to have this. I will boot up from my external as soon as it is installed to see if it is a hardware or software issue. I do not want to reinstall everything yet... and of course, Apple said don't re-install from your time machine as you may bring the problem back.... sigh... a fresh restart with all my software and apps and plugins... What a waste of time

OK, fixed....!!!! Without formatting and reinstalling. I was on the phone with tech support and tried something. I unplugged Monitor A and plugged it into my Wife's iMac. It worked! I unplugged it and plugged it back into my Mac Studio, and it worked!!! I did the same for Monitor B .... same results!!! So as apple tech agreed, there is an issue with the new Mac Studio Display!!!! At least I have sound again!!! What a waste of a day. So now we wait for Apple to address the issue.
