Mac mail trash

My Apple mail trash folder flipped? OS Monterey. The most recent emails are going to the bottom of the column?

Mail menu > View > Sort by > Newest Message on Top.

Deleting Emails - Monterey Apple Mail in Monterey 12.1 Where does an email go when I delete it using the trashcan icon or cmd/delete? It does not go in the trash folder, it just pops back up in the inbox. Tried using "erase deleted items" did nothing they just reloaded into my inbox. • Restarted in Safe Mode and tried again with the same results. • I had duplicate folders (inbox, sent, drafts, trash, etc.) under "Favorites". No clue why they were there. I thought this may be causing problems. So I used control/click to delete the duplicate folders. That worked on all but the "All mail" and "Trash" folders. They remain under Favorites. So can anyone share a fix for this Mail Hell?
