Monterey Application folder issue
When I first installed my Mac Studio 4/15/22 the macOS and all the files and applications migrated as expected. Lots of application installs went normally. It seems that after the macOS 12.3 update, many issues with the Applications folder have arisen.
I cannot delete apps from Applications, even 3rd party apps. (Yes, I know I can't delete Apple default apps.) I installed Evernote the other day after needing to disable SIP - Spotlight sees it in the Applications folder and it will open from there, but it is hidden in the Applications folder (even with SIP disabled.) Using the keyboard to display hidden files is no help.
Backblaze is an even crazier issue - it won't initiate the backup process, but I'll put this on the backburner for now.
I have booted from Recovery, erased the SSD, reinstalled Monterey, and migrated my user data back. Twice. No change. Files in Documents and Downloads and everywhere else are available and can be deleted normally.
I know there are reports of some users having an issue installing Dropbox in Monterey but this is a different animal. I don't know if I'm dealing with a Permissions issue or a bug. I can see from other Apple Discussions I'm not the only one. Disabling/enabling SIP is a nuisance, but I can live with that if I need to install apps, but not SEEING them in the Applications folder is disconcerting.
I think Apple Support needs to look into this.
