My son's Macbook Pro was stolen. We have Apple Care. Is there any coverage? If not, can his Apple Care plan be moved to cover a new computer?

No. AppleCare for MacBook Pro does NOT cover theft or loss.


What you do is cancel the current AppleCare plan and buy a new plan for the new computer. You will be give a refund of the unused portion of the AppleCare plan unused on the stolen computer.

No. Apple Care with Loss and Theft is only available for iPhone, and must be purchased in advanced as such.


For your Mac theft, contact your House insurance and see if they offer some type of coverage.


The Apple Care plan cannot be moved as it is tied to the specific device, but it can be cancelled and a new one purchased specifically for the new computer.
