Microphone cutting in and out on phone calls

I have just bought a brand new iPhone 13 256gb and when making calls, the recipient notes that my microphone is frequently cutting out and I am having to repeat myself constantly. Is this a common fault with a fix, or do I need a replacement?

mic cuts on and off during phone calls Just started a month or so ago. While on phone call the mic cuts off, stops working for 10 to 15 secs then comes back on. I know this because I see the mic light (upper right screen) going off and then comes back on AND I CAN'T HEAR CALLER WHEN MIC LIGHT GOES OFF?

Microphone not working properly on phone calls. Has Apple repaired this widespread defect at no charge for IPhone 7 owners?

It could be your provider, a connection fault or the device itself.

You could simply return it for a new iPhone. 📲
