App specific password not working for outlook app

I am using the Outlook app for my work email and calendar. I’m trying to add my iCloud account so that I can see my home calendar on my outlook calendar. iPhone 13 pro max, updated iOS . When I try to add the iCloud account it prompts me to create app specific password. So I create the password, enter it and it prompts me with the same message. Am I doing something wrong?

syncing on my PC worked great

Angflick,

Let's have you go and revoke the password, then set up a new one and test again. If you haven't already, since you did mention reviewing the following article as you were troubleshooting - Using app-specific passwords.

How to revoke an app-specific password
You can have up to 25 active app-specific passwords. If you need to, you can revoke passwords individually or all at once.
1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com.
2. In the Sign-In and Security section, click App-Specific Passwords.
3. Click A minus sign inside of a circle. next to a password you want to delete, or Revoke All.

After you revoke a password, the app using that password will be signed out of your account until you generate a new password and sign in again.

Thanks.

@lee_ms thank you for the reply. Yes I read through that as well. I do have 2 factor set up. I have my legacy and emergency contacts set up, I’m up to date on my iOS version. I followed all the steps.

i am starting in the outlook app. Hitting the + sign to add an account. Selecting iCloud and keep getting stuck in this cycle for the app specific password :(

any other suggestions? Thanks!
