I created a shortcut to play NPR (via Music app) on my HomePods. How do I create a short cut to “stop NPR” when I’m done listening?

Stop Apple Music from opening when pressing the stem buttons on AirPods Pro Has anyone found a way to stop Apple Music from opening whenever you accidentally press the stem buttons on the AirPods? When you press on the left or right stem of the AirPods the Music app opens up. This also happens when you first put in the AirPods and accidentally press the stem while you are fitting the pods in your ears. There are a few online discussions about this issue but no answers have been given so far. If I open the AirPods Pro settings, under the actions for "Press and hold" there is no option for "Music". The only options are "Noise Control" or "Siri". So where is the setting that says Apple Music should open when you press any of the stem buttons? There is no such setting in the Music app settings either. EDIT: This is on macOS Ventura. I posted this under iPhone for some reason, sorry. Perhaps someone can move the discussion under a better topic.

Apple music autoplay option in siri shortcuts I enjoy the "autoplay similar music to my queue" feature. I also use siri shortcuts to play my favorite playlists more easily. In the shortcuts app editor, the "play music" command has additional options to shuffle and repeat the playlist about to be played. How can I toggle autoplay on for a playlist launched from the shortcuts app?

How do I turn off F8 from auto launching Apple Music? The F8 button launches Apple Music. How do I turn off F8 from auto launching Apple Music? I only want F8 to function as intended, pause and stop audio playing, no mater what app is playing audio. I do not want it to open Apple Music! I am an Apple Music subscriber but, I do not want F8 to do this unexpected launch of the app when I need the memory on an M1. Apple Music is a big memory hog.

Hello Howsoregon,

You shouldn't need a shortcut to stop playing music. You can ask Siri to stop the music: Play audio using Siri on HomePod - Apple Support

Control audio

Try any of the following examples:

Activate Siri: Say “Hey Siri,” followed by your request.

For example, say “Hey Siri, play some music.” HomePod hears you—even from across the room or when it’s playing music.

In this case, you should be able to say, "Hey Siri, stop playing music." It should respond accordingly.
