How long is the download

The download is usually a little over a gigabyte.

I’ve seen ten to thirty minutes for downloads, plus another ten or fifteen to unpack the update.

But your experiences will differ.

If you download to a Mac or Windows computer using a ten gigabit fibre optic ISP connection to your computer, fast.

If you’re on an overloaded Wi-Fi network with an overloaded ISP and an overloaded Apple server, well, slow.

Given you’re still running iOS 14, that usually means you’re short on storage, so best use a computer with a fast network connection, as that’ll avoid issues trying to fit and unpack the download on the iPhone. And it’ll let you make a backup.

It depends on the speed of your network connection and may be different for each person.
