Headphone adapter breaks all video + audio

Hello,

I have a USB-C to Headphone Jack Adapter. Whenever I try to use it to listen to audio on my iPad however, it breaks - I don’t mean that no sound comes out, I mean it breaks the actual video itself. YouTube videos, for example, just stop playing about six seconds in and the audio starts skipping and goes weird; sometimes the time on the bottom also goes haywire. The same applies to videos from other services and to audio files such as podcasts.

I know it’s a problem with the adapter because my headphones still work fine connected to other sources, and the iPad can still play videos and audio perfectly fine without the adapter connected. But the adapter is the only way I can use my headphones on the iPad. I haven’t found anyone else who seems to have this specific problem. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks if you can help.

If you have demonstrated the Adapter to be at fault, exchange the Adapter and re-test.

Are you using an Apple USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter?

If faulty and within its one-year limited warranty, Apple should happily exchange the item.
