I want to change my icloud email address
Will i still receive emails send to the old iCloud email address?? at least for a while until this is propagated among my contacts?

The iCloud mail address might not be signed as an Apple ID in iPhone , but the mail address is revealed to your recipients , they will be sending mails to the address , however the mails can be viewed from a web browser by signing with account credentials at www.icloud.com .
Yet the mails can't be accessed from the iPhone as Apple ID is not signed in , you can sign out Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support the existing Apple ID from iPhone and sign in Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support with old mail address it will activate as an Apple ID and mails will start receiving Check your email in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support
