Are use Pages for my papers in college and submit it through Canvas my teacher says she cannot open in canvas what is the problem and how do I rectify the situation

I have an iPad that I use for my college papers I use the research section of pages and submit my papers through Canvas. My teacher says that she cannot open my papers even though I sent them to her through word. What is the problem and how can I fix this situation so that I can use my iPad.
