Adding a new Time Machine after first one is full?

My previous Time Machine is full and I am starting a new one. I am receiving the following alert: "Do you want to stop backing up to “***” and use “***” instead, or back up to both?" Which should I choose and why?

Choose the New Time Machine Backup drive .

It appear Time Machine Backup is only alerting you to the Options of Keeping theExisting Full TM Backup and or using Only the New Drive.

Personally, would suggest putting the Old Full Drive aside for Safe Keeping. Just incase something on that drive is needed in the future.

When I retire a full TM drive, I place a label on it indicating the last operating system name and version backed up to it and the date it was unmounted from the Mac. If I remember it, I also indicate the preceding data when it was initially started as a TM drive. If you have a fire-proof safe, put the retired TM drive in it.
