Monterey vs SMB

hi, i've encurred in a problem with 3 different mac ( 2 macbook pro and 1 mac 27), all devices has installed Monterey.

on smb shares if i open any kind of file works fine

close the file and move in other folders (up or down), the file doesn't reopen.

i've tried with a simple txt file, open with textedit, close and after move in a subfolder this file cannot be open again. if i rename the file i can open without problem.

i find this problem with 3 different mac with 12.4 installed, i tried different shares on different server:

windows server 2019

windows server 2016

home synology nas

my user has complete permission on all share and on all the files.

i've also tried to : right click on file moved -->open with--> all app tried doesn't respond. textedit, word, pages. nothing works. the only way to open again the file moved, is rename it.

these test were made at work with server smb shares and at home with synology nas. the result is the same.

last thing, i checked consolle during attemps to open and nothing is registered. only multiple click of touchpad for open bricked file

any suggest is good

thanks

Hi chuckbl, thanks,

I’ve already done that cli command to disable .ds but the issue still remain.

i Made other test, i installed an alternative of finder ( Total commander) and with that app the problem doesn’t appear.

i’ve Tried Also to delete all attribute file by terminal command. (xattr-c + path to the file) but doesn’t solve.

im sure now, the problem is something about Finder or about its cache.

Any suggestion is great

thx
