Can i buy applecare/hardware warranty for refurbished imac from an unauthorized dealer?

Nope, you have to buy the Mac either brand new or if you are going to buy used then buy a refurbished Mac directly from Apple, you get a 1 year warranty and you can also get AppleCare and save hundreds of $$$. In short there is no downside to these.
