Expired passes

How does the Apple Wallet determine if a pass is “expired” or not. I have movie passes in there from 2021.

There doesn’t appear to be a way to tell it to move it to expired passes, so now my wallet is cluttered up with passes from old movies

removing the pass would delete it. you cannot move a pass to expired as far as I know.

The Wallet uses the expiration date on the pass, if the pass provider included one. If there was none provided by the issuer of the pass it will remain until you remove it.

If it doesn't automatically move to expired passes, the pass likely wasn't set up quite properly by the company/app it was loaded from to be a single use or expiring pass.

typically, if you tap on a pass, then press the 3 dots in the upper corner, it will have an option to Remove Pass

What is odd is that there is one pass (same exact type and company Harkins Theaters) from 2020 it moved to expired but lots of them from 2021 it has not. Technically all of them are expired as there is a date and time of the movie on each.

Why did it only choose that one from 2020 to move to expired?
