Apple home pod mini

I’ve been having trouble with my home pod since I purchased it, I can not set up scenes or animations properly also a lot of the settings aren’t available. The message that pops up is that I need to update my home pod but it is currently updated. Could it be that I do not live in the USA ?

I really hope I can set it up otherwise I’ve wasted my money
