My emails have disappeared out of my saved folders?

Assuming that you a using either an IMAP or POP3 mailbox, all your mail should be preserved on your email-providers mail server. You should be able to check by signing-in to your mail provider’s mail portal using a web browser.


Having confirmed that your mail is still available on the mail server, the easiest method of restoring all email on your iPad is to delete the mail account from your iPad, restart the iPad, then reinstall the mail account…


To delete a mail account from your iPad:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your email account] > Delete Account


To restart your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
