My Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound and I don’t know how to fix it.
mu Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound when playing music. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a iPhone 13 pro if that matters.

The thing is that when you buy new car and apple carplay doesn’t work as it supposed to work, the option to buy separate adapter doesn’t seems acceptable. But Apple doesn’t care about customers concerns…
Trillion dollar company doesn’t have to care. I feel the same way however we use these products and if for $50 you get a new feature plus it works well then I look at it as an acceptable expense. Otherwise just use Bluetooth and your car navigation.
100% correct Borbonbon. I have upgraded to an iPhone 14 and my car is a 2022 with this crackle. This problem has been going on for many years without any attempt at mitigation from Apple.
It doesn’t matter what kind of iPhone you have. 10 S max and it does the same thing. Whether they will fix it or not no one knows but the truth is if you wanted to work now just get the adapter.
Wireless, or wired? If it’s wireless, then it’s considered BT. 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn is having the static issues while plugged into Apple CarPlay. 2020 Grand Cherokee I had prior to the Ram had no issues.
***if you haven’t done this already- the new iOS update from a couple of weeks ago fixes this issue entirely. 16.0.3
Hi I had this issue with Bluetooth and car play I found if I turn the volume down on my phone and then the stereo up it got rid of it on Bluetooth but carnt do the same with car play hope this helps chris
15.7.1 or 16? I have the option when updating.
Edit:
Never mind. I noticed you already said which one. Thanks!! Will update tonight!
iPhone X, updated to iOS 16.1, 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn, (11/04/2022) and the problem has not been resolved.
Any update I’m still having this issue they just released an update but it didn’t fix the CarPlay issue
It didn’t help
Same, updated to 16.1.1 and the issue is still there.
Hey guys. I keep writing the same thing but you all keep ignoring. Please. Just buy a wireless adapter. It takes care of just about most of the crackling. I’m able to talk just fine while my phone lays in the back charging. Music works, maps work. It’s really a beautiful solution while giving you more freedom and extra functionality. Worth the $50.
That is a workaround not a solution. Apple customers shouldn’t be required to purchase 3rd party adapters to use Apple CarPlay. The issue needs to be addressed.
I agree however, if you want to use your device properly right now and not suffer for who knows how long, then use this work around it because it gives you extra functionality and it works great. Otherwise, just keep posting on here and suffering.
