My Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound and I don’t know how to fix it.
mu Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound when playing music. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a iPhone 13 pro if that matters.

Senseielo, thanks for the tip, but what we’re trying to say is, the problem needs to be addressed. $50k price tag and not everything works. I never had this issue in my 2020 Grand Cherokee.
The last time I bought an adapter was for my 2009 Altima lol it doesn’t seem to do it with BT, just CarPlay. But I plug my phone in to charge in my way home from work.
Anyway, hardheaded I guess, and I’m glad there is a way to get around the problem, but I probably won’t be spending another $50.
I totally agree with you and I think apple needs to fix this. However, in my situation I needed to use CarPlay and I also needed to make calls so it was either I wait until Apple fixes it or I spend 50 bucks and my whole system works fine, but of course everybody makes their own decisions.
Mine doesn’t seem to be terribly bad. Just very annoying. And it doesn’t do it all the time, or on every song. I haven’t noticed it all while talking on the phone.
Static for me happens when I am using a wire into the USB, using Waze and speaking on the phone. The only way for the static to stop is unplug from the USB. Then I can't use WAZE. This was one of the main features for me buying this car. I have changed the wire twice. Has there been a fix implemented?
It didn't help me.
Can confirm this is also happening on VW transporter 2021 when using usb c cable im personally getting fed up of if and considering going back to android i rely on waze etc daily for work this isn't good enough
Hey There I have a Murano and same exact problem did you ever find a fix?
I haven't gotten a fix. When I went back to the dealer, we updated, reset, and nothing. They blame apple. Apple? Do you hear us?
I sent my iPhone 14 ProMax back as the car play will not work the crackling and distorted sound was doing my head and having to keep plugging it in and unplugging it was not good for my lightning port all it does is just lower the lifespan of it having to keep plugging and unplugging it I spoke to Apple and they act like they've never heard of this problem before I just gave up I have no just bought a Samsung watch 5 Pro and a z fold 4 use the Samsung phone today in my van via Android auto and didn't have one problem on a 4-hour journey
Unfortunatley ChrisHyper1, I can't do that ... you are one lucky guy. I need a resolution from Apple. Apple? Can you hear me through the crackling and static?
I hope you get it fixed mate but I painfully tried for 2 hours on Monday and got nothing off them I needed working carplay for my job as I can drive up to 2 to 3 hours a day one way and for me to having to keep on plugging it and unplugging it it's no good for me
I had the deep purple 512gb I'm sorry but paying £1600 for a phone what doesn't work is a big no trust me it was painful trying to get them to accept the return but when I complained they finally accepted it and I received my refund today it's taking something getting used to the Samsung but up to now it's worked flawlessly And I had a nice smooth drive today without any problems
Like I said, you are one lucky guy!
Apple, are you even listening. You keep providing the same solution to go back and set up CarPlay again. The issue is that wireless CarPlay, newer iPhones, newer cars are unable to make phone calls over CarPlay because the receiving person hears an echo which makes them unable to hear the caller. I have done extensive research on forums to include this one and there is no solution. Changing the carrier settings has not worked, hard restarts have not worked, plugging the phone in using usb has not worked, turning down the volume has not worked. In addition, when playing music over CarPlay there is static and feedback. When I play music through the Amazon app or any other media, there is no static. This is an issue with Apple and CarPlay. PLEASE figure it out and respond to us (not just directing us back to the link on how to set up CarPlay.
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Did you do the latest iOS update? That entirely fixed mine.
