My Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound and I don’t know how to fix it.
mu Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound when playing music. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a iPhone 13 pro if that matters.

Yes. No change unfortunately.
Done and it didn’t help
You go girl!!
uh, not with mine
I have the exact same issue. Just updated to IOS 16. Still same issues. It’s really poor from Apple to not even respond. The diving experience is being ruined by Apple CarPlay. Why do car manufacturers still force us to have/use this.
No response from Apple at all. Such poor customer service. Its not like I can walk into the genius bar with my car to show them what's going on. I have complained to Nissan, but that's not getting me anywhere either.
Mine is happening when playing certain songs. It will sound staticky or like a busted speaker. When I tried spotify the issue went away. For me its only on apple music and carplay. I have a brand new 2022 F150. This is beyond frustrating since I've been with apple music for many years.
Hi, I have the same issue. I have a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder.
I find that this issue only happens when I'm connected to CarPlay via USB only (wireless is working great).
I also noticed that this only happens when I'm using maps or waze and listening to music.
If I'm listening to music without maps/waze i don't have any issues. (even with USB CarPlay).
Seems to be a Nissan problem as most people here complaining with Nissan brand.
I wish this would have a quick fix as i don't like wireless CarPlay....
Exactly same issue on 2018 Honda Clarity
I fixed this issue for google map by turning off "Play voice over Bluetooth"
How do I do that?
I really prefer WAZE - any idea if I can do that in WAZE?
It is unreal that there isn't a fix for this after 3+ years of this issue. I've had three gens of iPhones (Xr, 12Pro, & 14Pro), that have run serveral version's of iOS, that I've used in three different vehicle's CarPlay systems (Nissan, VW, & Maserati) that ALL have this issue. After about 15 min of usage the audio becomes progressively worse with crackling until it is completely unintelligible. Sometimes resolving after a few min, only to happen again a min later. And it's not just the Music app. It's anything, including Audible. The only solution is to unplug the iPhone from USB or switch it to the FM Radio and back again.
I've just come away from iPhone had enough of apple fobbing me off with crap blaming my vehicles radio just moved to s23 ultra and have no issues with android auto in my VW work van
No crackle and no distored phone calls I miss my apple watch ultra that's it but it doesn't make me miss it enough to go back to iPhone I cannot stand the crappy noise issues for it to never get fixed
Can't really blame my radio when android auto doesn't cause this issue apple need to pull their finger out and quick
Maybe using the phone with a case and a phone magnet mount might fix the sound issues but I want to use car play
Same Problem here ! On a VW California, I've ask to VW they don't have solution. :(
Have a 2021 Murano and like everyone else here I have the same problem with crackling phone calls on CarPlay. All of the other apps, music, messaging, Spotify, Maps, Waze etc work fine. The crackling phone calls are so bad they become unintelligible. Sometimes the crackling goes away after several minutes of conversation but ultimately returns. It's so annoying. Just by the numbers it does seem to be primarily a Nissan issue.
