What is iOS Account Manager?

Hello there, I was checking my google account security settings and I found out that "iOS Account Manager" is connected to my account but I've no idea what it is. I tried to log out from my account on my iPhone but when I log into YouTube it still appears (so it might can be related to yt but idk why). I also logged into safari and when I check for new logins in my google account setting it just says that safari is connected. You guys have any ideas on what this account manager is? sorry for my bad english.

I have it on my phone and I know someone who is causing me great damage to my life and business is doing it. It appears it is a fake Google accounts app that installs some malware which makes you think your logging in to your accounts but really your passing your password into people who are hacking into your email. This woman has taken over my website and has had access to all passwords and has been reading , deleting mail and contacting Google support as though she is me. She has got hold of dns records of domain and has set up Google consoles , moved my hosting of website, it’s a nightmare and is ruining my business and life. If you have this on your phone, be very worried ! I can’t even reset my phone properly, going to a apple shop tomorrow for help. It isn’t good though!

Guys, I’ve searched into the google support community and as a “specialist” said this iOS Account Manager “service” means that I (and you) have given the access to a google service installed on iOS (like youtube for me) to my (and your) google account so I think we’re now able 2 sleep peacefully. Btw I’m not 100% sure that this stuff is finally resolved but the most logical answer to this big question seems the best.

Same here! I have sent multiple screen recordings & snapshots of things that have happened with my phone. Tx msgs & emails being read & opened by someone else. My ex partner sent his sister & tx msg before Xmas but it came from my phone number. He was receiving every single iMessage & had my WhatsApp on his phone without me ever getting a single notification? Pictures & evidence vanishing. I had to install a lock folder on a old phone I had. Called the police bevause I believed it wasn’t him but thought someone was trying to send me round the bend, they even hacked into my tv & changed all of the picture/colour settings…… the police did nothing!! Because no money has been taken! I called cyber crime, again nothing, made to feel stupid for asking for help. Even tho me ask them was the final straw after being made to feel crazy for nearly 2 years!! I’m still waiting to hear back and it’s been 4 months. Time & mental health I will never get back but to Apple it means nothing.

I wish I didn’t need a smart phone so I could use a Nokia, but not possible in this world anymore.

Something really should be done, the amount of money we spend on Apple to get left out in the cold we we really need them is completely unfair. 🫨😔

Thank for replying

I would feel better if I was able to view and open the main sign in date that has the “IOS Account Manager” showing. When it says there are 13 sessions running and I tap on it to view those sessions and close what I don’t want or I don’t know it won’t even open. I just waited 2 hours to speak to a lady at Google and she said that she had no idea what it could be or how to address it because she is only Google help, Not Apple. And that only Apple can use “IOS”.

I called My Apple and even shared my screen and showed them and He had no clue what it is either. Who in the heck knows? “Account Manager” usually is IT

or companies managing their own devices in their network. It’s off my phone if I don’t have Google on my phone or signed in to Google. Then there’s the issue of not being able to use Google services completely if I’m not signed in. I’m so confused and

I Want this off my personal account.

Who knows what it is getting from our phones without us being able to do anything and NO ONE knows anything…

just sayin…

Hey this is something I’ve felt with for 2 years, also captive apple popping up on my phones. Changed Apple ID got 9 new phones, lost money from compromised accounts and apple not google knows anything. I think this is something that needs to be addressed and have lawyers involved as I am for sure! Have any of you had pictures disappear from your phone? Or crazy websites showing up on your home network? I’ve had one apple support member even tell me to get a lawyer and private investigator bc it was compromised, that he could loose his job even but what he was seeing was wrong and should not happen as he was on screen share. Then another chick from apple recognizes a letter that had 3 backslashes and apple only has 2 but nothing has been done yet and I’ve even called FBI and cyber crime unit.

My home network, windows 10 pc, and Iphone was recently hacked. I have been (and am continuing) working with my wireless carrier and my ISP to resolve it all. I Just a few minutes ago signed back into gmail account via the gmail app for the first time in over a week, and after the genius bar wiped my devices clean & reinstalled software; and after my phone number and sim card have been changed. I have been checking all of my gmail account settings to secure the account. after being logged in for 29 minutes someone else logged in on an iphone located in the city where I live. I investigated and indicated to google I didnt recognize the device so google signed me out of it. Next I saw 2 additional active unknown devices signed in - 1 being an ipad and 1 an iphone - neither are mine. Both of these say IOS Account Manager. Interestingly, I just now noticed under my iphone's active connection it has my correct iphone name, correct location and says IOS ACCOUNT MANAGER underneath! under that there is a checkmark indicating this iphone connection is the phone I am currently using!

I do not know what this IOS Account Manager is, but it might explain why the passwords on many of my other (non google related) are "incorrect", and do not work. I use a password manager and always make changes to passwords inside the password manager. I know someone has been changing my passwords - I am not sure how. maybe this IOS Account Manager is the culprit - if I only knew what it is!!

I will continue following this thread and will post if I find out anything new. Incidently last night I changed my wifi network name and password, signed out of wifi then signed in again to make sure it was working. This morning the password was not recognized so I have updated via the router, signed out and am now signed back in. If it gets changed again I am going to scream 🤬!

Hello Riccardo2424,

Is this device your own personal device or a managed device? We'd check for any installed profiles and remove them: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support

Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

Configuration profiles define settings for using iPhone with corporate or school networks or accounts. You might be asked to install a configuration profile that was sent to you in an email, or one that is downloaded from a webpage. You’re asked for permission to install the profile and, when you open the file, information about what it contains is displayed. You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings  > General > Profiles & Device Management. If you delete a profile, all of the settings, apps, and data associated with the profile are also deleted.

If it wasn't being managed by a profile, then you'd want to connect with Google Support: https://support.google.com Since this is happening when you sign in to the Google account, they would be the best to answer this.

Wishing you well, cheers.

Some people here said that we have been hacked because we got this “iOS Account Manager” stuff but I dont think so. A lot of people have this “third party service” connected to their accounts but as I read in a google support forum it’s a legit service owned by google (but please don’t think that what i read it’s actually true)

It is none of those things. You may have spyware on your phone if you have a profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management, or if someone had physical possession of your phone while it was unlocked, but that has nothing to do with iOS Account Manager, which is a Google service that protects your google apps on your phone from being hacked.

From:https://www.fireebok.com/resource/how-to-remove-ios-account-manager-from-google-account.html

The iOS Account Manager is Google Account Manage platform for iOS, which protects your account from hackers when logging in on your iOS device and using Google apps and services. It also reminds you that your Google account is being used on an iOS device.

You are likely to have it if you belong to a Google Workspace Group, or have a gmail account in the iOS Mail app, or other Google apps on your phone.

If you are concerned about spyware on your phone there is a simple solution: Restore your phone to factory settings, and set it up as a new phone without restoring a backup→Restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support

I have this TOO. It’s new to me but I can not tap on anything to remove device.

question— does anybody have their kids in like a Independence Study programs or their kids iPad/ chromes hooked up to their Internet or devices? This could be spying on us through our kids, that is my other theory because of How this WorldAdministration is acting. Thank you for any future comments about this issue.

Is your device in YOUR name or someone else’s?? If for instance a spouse has the account & purchased you a device, it’s technically theirs & you are a user of THEIR device. Therefore what no one tells you is they are allowed to enroll/manage that device with MDM & you like me will not even receive notifications, just hints here/there. It’s underhanded & abusive to your privacy but not illegal. As far as help, there is none bc you don’t own it. The only solution is to get your own device in your name only on your own account, then it’s illegal. Sad truth & shouldn’t be allowed but companies don’t want you knowing this loophole exists. JAMF is one mdm to look into. You may be enrolled as a student or a minor or just as a user & them owner/admin.

No one’s phone has been hacked. There are no valid stories to share. If you have a weak password and no 2 factor authentication for your Apple ID account there is a very slight chance your Apple ID has been compromised. If you think that’s possible:

Follow this guidance→If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

And you can actually see who has access to your Apple ID account→Checklist: If you want to see if anyone else has access to your device or accounts - Apple Support

Why would Apple direct you to contact Google regarding an iOS Account Manager? Apple handles all their own product security, development, issues, etc. They are very private about and security vulnerability & address them in-house.

Per all Apple support privacy disclosures they state, “all Apple services are designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. We collect only the data we need to make your experience better. We believe it’s important for you to know what we’re collecting and why we need it, so you can make informed choices.”

I have never ever seen Apple direct anyone to Google or any other competitor site.
