I just added a new google mail account to Mail. It is showing up as an account under Internet Accounts in settings, but it is not showing up in Mail. It is however showing up in my calender.
I have Monterey 12.3.1

Also: in System Preferences->Internet Accounts, select the new google account and make sure that the checkbox for Mail is checked.

Not as far as I know. I have nine e-mail accounts currently set up in Mail, and if there is a limit I'd expect to be one that most people would not reach.
