Suddenly, my iphone SE is not automatically connecting to my home wifi when I'm at home? It is set to Auto Join. What's happening?

The problem started before 15.5 even came out. And there is nothing in the 15.5 update that helps w/ a problem connecting to a home Wi-Fi or any local Wi-Fi.
Sadly, looks like another Apple problem I’m just going to have to live with. ☹️
This just started happening to me too, only I have an iPhone 12 with iOS 15.5. Had auto connected to my home wifi for over a year. And recently it stopped even though Auto Join is on.

2ND generation. 2020. This just happened suddenly - no change to settings that I'm aware of. And it stays on "LTE" even when I'm sitting right in the same room as the router. I have to change it manually. I've confirmed that "Auto Join" is on.
It's eating up data.
