I cannot connect the WH-1000XM3 earbuds with Mac Pro

I cannot connect these headphones https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T2FGG2Z?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_GT78MMZY6BVPAR8453T1 to my MacBook Pro.

The steps described by apple do not work as my headphones do not appear in the bluetooth list.

I appreciate any help

My WH-1000XM4 head phones would not pair with Monterey on my 2021 16-in MBP M1 Pro until after I installed the Sony Connect app on my iPhone and applied a 2021 firmware update to the headphones. Do so, and determine if your XM3 earbuds have a pending firmware update to apply.

If firmware was available and installed on the earbuds, then power off the earbuds and the Mac. Power on the Mac, ensure that your Bluetooth Preferences pane is open and on, and then power on the earbuds and attempt to pair.

Let's say the Mac model is "MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009)"

If i go to tech specs for this model (from the link Identify your MacBook Pro model - Apple Support) and look for Bluetooth we find "Built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)"

Where as the bluetooth in the earbuds in question is "Bluetooth Specification Version 5.0" (ref: link)

So this is not compatible.

Similarly you need to check with your exact Mac model and the Bluetooth specifications for compatibility.
