what is the latest version i can update my iMac 21.5" mid 2010 to?

Hi, I have an iMac 21.5" mid 2010 which is running on macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6. I have tried to download 10.6.4 from apple support (as i understand my mac is incompatible for the latest version) When i try to open the 10.6.4 i get a pop up telling me i need the mac version 10.6??

High Sierra 10.13.6 is the last version of Mac OS a 2010 21.5" iMac is capable of running. By the way, you should consider replacing this computer if it is your primary computer. Why,


  1. It is classed as "vintage" by Apple, this means they will not repair it and parts are extremely difficult to find.
  2. It is really a computer antique at this point, Mac OS is extremely out of date, internal parts may last a while longer or fail at any time. You cannot update to current third party apps.
