Background Refresh

Why can’t I turn on my background refresh? It’s on grey from the general setting?

Hello Teetopsy,

If the Background App Refresh option is grayed out, it typically means you have restrictions enabled on the device.

Go to Settings > Screen Time, and see if that is currently turned on. If it is, go down to Content & Privacy Restrictions and see if that is also turned on. If it is on, scroll to the bottom of the page and change the Background App Activities option to "Allow".

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Cheers!
