Applications Folder in User Account
I just looked at the Applications Folder in my User Account, and there are no applications listed. They are listed in Applications on my hard drive.

Thanks-- one other question. In my sidebar, under Locations, I see my hard drive. I had renamed it, and now decided to go back to Macintosh HD. How I clicked on the hard drive and was able to change it, but the Location still shows the name I had changed it to. How can I remedy that, and what exactly does Locations mean?
each item in the sidebar is an Alias of an actual Icon. If you rename the actual Icon, that does not change the name of its Alias.
If any of them displeases you for any reason, drag it out onto the desktop and it will go Poof.
Then drag the item you desire into that space instead.
The apps are not supposed to be installed under your user name.
They are outside users so all user have access.
It's working properly. Unless you manually placed an application in your home folder, it'll be empty if it exists.
