Just bought a Mac mini running Monterey. When I go to the login page there's a green Circle in the middle of the screen (definitely NOT A DOT!!) This circle looks a bit like a flattened apple with cloves stuck on the outside. What is it and what does it signify?

I suspect that's your profile picture (just above your device password). You can change it in System Preferences.
Thanks you. I can see now that it's a cactus. I've changed the to another profile picture and the mystery is solved
