Re-pairing forgotten bluetooth device

I have gone through the steps of resetting the network on my iphone SE in an attempt to re-pair a forgotten bluetooth sony headphones. I have also turned off both the headphones and the iphone se and turned on both devices in an effort to re-pair them. I have first turned off both devices simultaneously then turn both on at different times phone first then secondly then the same with the headphones and my iphone will not recognize the previously and mistakenly forgotten sony headphones. Can anyone help with this. I have looked at the sony website and the instructions as well as followed the advice of previous threads and cannot get these devices to pair. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Nothing you are describing in your post would achieve successfully re-pairing your headphones.

Maybe you've tried this, but didn't mention it..

but in order to re-pair a bluetooth accessory, that accessory must be placed into pairing mode, only at that time would it be visible on your iPhone in Settings > Bluetooth.

So in that Sony manual, figure out how to put the headphones back in pairing mode.

If they are wh-1000xm4 over ear headphones, I've done this before with no issues.
