How do I easily copy and print the total text message thread of conversation

Actually I messaged myself and pressing "Command-P" does in fact print the conversation.

Well, if it's a single three year long conversation, then selecting it and printing should work. Although I imagine it would be quite a few pages. If it is multiple conversations, then you would have to select and print each one I imagine.
According to Messages Help, "Command-P" should Print a conversation. I don't use Messages so I can't check if it works.
I need to recapture three years, not just a single exchange,
