iMessage is enabled, but not working

I just started getting a popup saying that iMessage needs to be enabled for me to send a few photos on a group text. I can't seem to send photos at all. My iMessage is enabled. My phone number is selected to send and receive. I closed out the app, and tried again. Restarted my phone and tried again. Wifi is working well. I have good reception. What is going on?!

Lolomite,

We appreciate the additional information. You may need to reach out to your carrier since this seems to be specifically related to SMS/MMS messages. But let's keep looking and see what we can find out.

In the article, If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support you will find a section, "Try these steps first" that you will want to try. You can skip over the ones you have already tried.

If this continues to be isolated to SMS/MMS messages, then try contacting your carrier to see if there is anything that needs to be done on their side.

Take care!

Thank you for your reply! Yes, I can send a single photo to iPhone users. It seems to be non-phone users that is giving me trouble, even though I have my settings to allow SMS and group texts. The difficulty with the group of mixed phone types is new, but I have had issues for months sending a single photo to a non-phone user. It often says not sent or delivered, and sometimes it has been sent and delivered, other times, it just won't go through.
