Macbook Pro (M1) connectivity to a Garmin zumo XT GPS

when I plug my Garmin XT into my MacBook ... finder does not recognize it although the power icon on the GPS shows it is receiving power from the MacBook

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

M1 chip in macbook preventing garmin gps for getting map updates I read where everyone with an Macbook computer with a M1 chip could not update their Garmin GPS products. Think that is my problem but using the Apple connector USB C to computer and regular female USB connector does allow the Garmin GPS to receive a charge. Guess the M1 doesn't prevent that - odd. Does anyone know if there a work around for the problem?

Garmin Navman 6 is not recognised by my 2020 MacBook Pro with M1 Chip Has anyone had issues with USB connectivity with M1 chipped MacBook Pros. My Garmin Navman 6 is not recognised by my 2020 MacBook Pro with M1 Chip. Works with Intel chipped MacBook Air. Looks like I may have to exchange my new Pro for an older model which seams a bit of a retrograde step. Had my Pro to my local Apple Genius Bar and they were unable to connect my satnav to M1 chipped MacBooks but had no problems connecting to intel chipped MacBook Airs. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
