i tried to update my macos and it failed and now i cant install any macOS

You'll probably have to wipe the drive and start over.

If you can restart the Mac in Recovery mode, that would be the preferred way.

If the above won't work, then you'll need to create a bootable USB installer for the version of macOS you wish to reinstall.

The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the year your Mac was released.

Click the  (Apple) menu at the top of your screen and choose About This Mac.

❗️ – IMPORTANT – None of your 32-bit apps will work in Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey.

Use the free utility Go64 to check the compatibility of your apps:

✅ - IF your Mac and apps are compatible, then using Safari only, download the macOS upgrade installer app:

Click > High Sierra,  Mojave,  Catalina,  Big Sur  or  Monterey.

Once downloaded, double-click the “Install macOS…” app in the Applications folder to begin the upgrade.
