Is there any way to optimise my RAM or Mac speed?

Looks like your Mac is running slow. You can do a number of things for it to run faster

If it's an iMac, you might be able to upgrade the RAm depending on the model

You can't change RAM characteristics, you can only add or remove depending on your exact model and year.

Additional RAM is very unlikely to increase overall computer responsiveness/speed. It may enable a given RAM-hungry app to work better however.

You'd be surprised at how many little irksome problems can be fixed by a simple restart.
